Sok Kwu Wan used to be a fishing village and villagers believe in Tin Hau and so the temple is situated near the pier. The temple is believed to have a history of more than 150 years. There are two antiques inside which were cast in the 6th year of Daoguang reign (1826) while the spade was cast in the 21st year of Guangxu reign (1895).
